2009 Gold IPPY Award Winner in Science

Mark Edwards’ Green Algae Strategy: End Oil Imports and Engineer Sustainable Food and Fuel explores the extraordinary capabilities of algae, including its ability to offer low-cost, high-energy biofuels, slow global warming and provide nutritious foods. Green Algae Strategy received the gold medal in the science category from the 2009 Independent Publisher Book Awards.

Mark Edwards is a professor of strategic marketing and sustainability at Arizona State University. An expert on sustainable food, water and energy, he has degrees in engineering, oceanography and meteorology from the United States Naval Academy, as well as an M.B.A. and Ph.D. in marketing and consumer psychology.
